10 Factors Google Uses To Score Website

What is important to Google in a website

What once used to be elite is now common. Whoever you are and whatever you’re attempting to do, a website is in the cards for you. Websites are extremely common in this new age of social media. Every second person needs a website to showcase them and their service in the best possible light.

In an age where websites can be found in every corner of the internet, it takes a special skill to get noticed. Google is the platform to get noticed on, and getting on to the elite first spot of the search results is a game to be played.
To play the game, knowing the values that Google holds and incorporating it is key. Here are the 10 things Google values in a website!

What are the Ten things Google values in a website?
To make things easier, Google kindly put out a list of their values for all to see. These values have to do with their vision and mission for the company. They also provide a view of what they’re looking for in a website.

  • User is King
Its users rule Google, and your website is as well. The first rule of Google's philosophy is to keep the user's interests in mind before creating a website or any content. Any website needs to have content that is relevant to a user. The site also needs to be optimized to provide the best experience.
When creating a website, the simplicity of an interface and relevant content must be kept in mind. Keeping the user in mind when creating your website falls in line with Google's values as well.

  • Master of One
Google does one thing, search, and they do it well. They are trying to answer any question and provide users with information. A website will need to serve the purpose of answering questions and providing information. Keeping in line with Google’s values, this means that a website that provides in-depth information on one topic or idea is more likely to be recognized and valued.

  • Faster the better
No user wants a slow loading website, and Google certainly doesn’t. When it comes to the loading speed of a website, the faster it loads, the better. Google focuses on providing information fast. This speed is something that is reflected in their values and the way they have created their algorithm. A slow website is going to be overlooked by Google and a user.

  • Democracy Rules
In an age where the Internet rules, tons of websites are vying for the attention of Google. Google also relies on external applications and websites to provide information. If a site is being cited as the best source of information, then Google will agree. The best course of action for any new website is to cement themselves as the best information source!

  • Mobile Mobility
The world is constantly on the move. With mobile phones, this has never been truer. No user is looking to be bound to a desktop to view a certain site. Google encourages mobile-friendly websites. They encourage the innovation that increases this mobility and benefits a user!

  • Make Money, Do No Evil
Google has a rigid rule about their content, which extend to their advertising; if it’s not relevant, it doesn’t show. This is a rule that a website can benefit from in two ways. Fewer ads on your website encourage a user to browse and increases your traffic. Google is also going to see your website as being better.
Google values the information and content being provided. As a search engine, they also value how information is provided. They do not promote ads that don't have any relevance to the topic. Google also looks for websites that are less likely to have spam ads and too many distractions on the page.

  • There’s More Information in the Sea
Google is always on the lookout for information. Whether it is on existing topics or brand-new topics, Google will want to integrate a website. It also does well to remember that thousands of websites provide information at once, so the goal is to stand out from the crowd!

  • Crossing Borders
Google's mission is to reach every person in the world. They aim to provide information to everybody regardless of language and format. Keeping this in mind, a useful website for any user will be valued more. Even if your product or service isn't meant to be accessible globally, providing a platform that can be useful in another manner is valued.

  • A Friend in Need is a Friend Who Shares
As mentioned before, Google values websites with the greatest number of ‘votes.’ This means that your website must be share-worthy. A website that creates content that can be shared on other social media apps, linked to other websites, and generally appreciated by the masses is valued.
On the same tangent as the previous point, linking other websites and pages helps as well! Using other pages to compliment your content adds to the credibility of your site. This automatically makes your website more valued!

  • Great Isn’t Good Enough
Google is ever-changing. They are constantly trying to create, innovate, and be better. This is an attitude to adopt for other websites as well. When creating content, experiences, or products, making them 'ok' isn't enough. Asking the right questions and modifying the website based on new information and feedback adds value, Google agrees too!

After reading everything, there is one point that is common to all the values. The user is king, and Google knows it too. Whatever Google does is to improve the experience a user has on their website.
What they look for in other websites is the same! If you’re trying to understand what makes Google tick, then you’ll only need a basic point. If you’ve got that down, then you’re good to go!

Google has become the success that it is based on its core values. Their values can also be used to enhance and rework websites to end up in the spotlight!

How To Get Negative Reviews Removed From Google Google has created a great platform for small businesses to grow. They have created a marketing platform for them that has seen new market entrants growing faster and making thousands of sales, all in their first several years of operation. This was a very difficult thing to accomplish in the past when marketing mainly relied on client referrals or word of mouth. Google created the Google My Business platform that lets business owners register their premises on the software and create a business profile. Here, they can advertise the various services they offer, their prices, and the location. This has also been integrated into the Google Local Maps application that allows users to search and find businesses offering the specific services they need and where they are located.
